Step-by-Step Guide to Inflating and Deflating Your Vango AirBeam using their AirSpeed Valve

Setting up and taking down your Vango AirBeam awning or tent is a straightforward process when you follow the correct steps. This guide will walk you through both inflating and deflating your AirBeam®, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Step 1: Preparing for Inflation

Step 1 of Vango AirSpeed Valve instructions showing how to remove the locking cap to inflate the valve.
Before you start inflating the AirBeam®, remove the locking cap from the valve. This cap ensures the valve is secure during transportation or storage. Twist the cap counter-clockwise to loosen it and set it aside for later use.

Step 2: Setting the Valve to the Closed Position

Step 2 of Vango AirSpeed Valve guide explaining how to turn the button from OPEN to CLOSED for inflation.

If the valve is in the "OPEN" position, push and rotate the button to the "CLOSED" position. This step is essential to allow inflation without air escaping. If needed, turn the pump adaptor fully until you hear a “click,” ensuring a secure fit and proper alignment.

Step 3: Inflate the AirBeam

Step 3 of Vango AirSpeed Valve guide showing the inflation process to 7-8 psi using a pump.

Connect your pump to the valve, ensuring it is secure to avoid air leakage. Inflate the AirBeam® to the recommended pressure of 7-8 psi. This pressure ensures the AirBeam® is sturdy and reliable while maintaining the durability of the structure. Avoid overinflating, as this can strain the materials.

Step 4: Securing the Valve After Inflation

Step 4 of Vango AirSpeed Valve instructions illustrating how to replace the cap and lock it securely.

Once the AirBeam® is fully inflated, replace the locking cap on the valve. Turn the cap until it’s in the locked position. This step prevents accidental air release and keeps your AirBeam® in optimal condition.

Quick Tip: The top of the locking cap can double as a key to help twist the valve, especially if your hands are cold, gloved, or less nimble.

Step 5: Deflating the AirBeam

When it's time to pack up, remove the cap from the valve. Press and turn the button from the "CLOSED" position to "OPEN" to release the air. Allow the AirBeam® to fully deflate before folding or rolling it for storage.

With these steps, you can ensure your Vango AirBeam® is easy to use and remains in excellent condition for many camping trips to come. Whether you’re setting up a drive-away awning or a tent, following these guidelines will help you enjoy a stress-free experience.
