Inflatable Air Tents
The main reason campers go for an inflatable tent is how easy they are to pitch. Once the tent is laid out and positioned, simply peg the four corners, pump up the air beams, each beam takes around 20-30 seconds to inflate using the hand pump provided, and then finish pegging the rest of the tent. Job done!
There's nothing worse than getting to a site and it taking 2 hours to put up the tent, especially if it's raining! We are finding that campers are getting a lot more use out of their air tents because it’s opened up weekend camping for larger tents due to their quick pitching design.

How long does it take to inflate an inflatable tent?
First you need to unroll the tent and peg the four corners. Then inflate the beams. To actually inflate an air tent it can take as little as 3-5 minutes. You're looking at around 20-30 seconds per beam using the manual and the tent pitches itself. Then you finish off the pegging to make it secure, this takes the time especially on larger tents. On a small 3 berth air tent you're looking at around 10-12 minutes and for a larger inflatable family tent around 15-20 minutes.
Using an electric or rechargeable pump takes a bit longer than the manual pumps but obviously takes less effort.
Do inflatable tents come with a pump?
All of the inflatable tents we sell include a hand pump as standard, but you can also use an electric pump for even quicker inflation.
Can an inflatable tent burst or puncture?
All air tents come with reinforced beams that are highly resistant to punctures. Even if a small leak occurs, repair kits are available to fix them quickly. For a step-by-step guide on replacing an air tube, check out our blog on repairing inflatable tent beams.
What pressure should I inflate the beams to?
Follow the manufacturer’s recommendation, usually between 7 and 9 PSI. All Vango Airbeam tents should be inflated to 7PSI. A pump with a gauge makes it easy to stay within range. In hot weather, aim for the lower end since air expands with heat.
How long does it take to pack away an inflatable tent?
Deflating is as simple as pitching. Open the valves to release the air, fold the fabric, and roll it into its bag. It usually takes less than ten minutes.
