The main benefit of an air tent is obviously how quickly they can be erected. An tent the size of of the Vango Sherwood Air 600xl can be pitched in around 15 minutes!
After a long drive, you don’t want to spend ages feeding poles through sleeves or trying to work out which pole goes where. With an inflatable tent, you can get the main structure standing much more quickly, giving you more time to unpack, get the chairs out and start enjoying the campsite. This is especially important if the weather isn't great and you can be under cover quicker.
That ease of pitching is one of the main reasons families and couples move to inflatable tents, especially when they want the space of a larger tent without the hassle of it taking ages to erect.
Weekend Camping with an Inflatable tent
Larger tents are great once they are up, but pitching a large poled tent can sometimes put people off. We’re finding that our customers are getting much more use out of their inflatable tent because it is opening up weekend camping for larger tents. Our customers tell us that with a poled tent they’re unlikely to go away for the weekend because the last thing they want to do is deal with erecting a poled tent after work on a Friday evening. However, with an inflatable tent you don’t have this extended pitching time so if the weather is nice they’re packing the car and getting away for the weekend.

How long does it take to inflate an inflatable tent?
First you need to unroll the tent and peg the four corners. Then inflate the beams. To actually inflate an air tent it can take as little as 3-5 minutes. You're looking at around 20-30 seconds per beam using the manual and the tent pitches itself. Then you finish off the pegging to make it secure, this takes the time especially on larger tents. On a small 3 berth air tent you're looking at around 10-12 minutes and for a larger inflatable family tent around 15-20 minutes.
Using an electric or rechargeable pump takes a bit longer than the manual pumps but obviously takes less effort.
Do inflatable tents come with a pump?
All of the inflatable tents we sell include a hand pump as standard, but you can also use an electric pump for even quicker inflation.
Can an inflatable tent burst or puncture?

What pressure should I inflate the beams to?
Follow the manufacturer’s recommendation, usually between 7 and 9 PSI. All Vango Airbeam tents should be inflated to 7PSI. A pump with a gauge makes it easy to stay within range. In hot weather, aim for the lower end since air expands with heat.
How long does it take to pack away an inflatable tent?
Deflating is as simple as pitching. Open the valves to release the air, fold the fabric, and roll it into its bag. It usually takes less than ten minutes.
