The Vango Omega 600XL Tent is the largest model in Vango's Omega trekking range, combining expedition-friendly construction with enough sleeping, living and storage space for groups of up to six.
Its proven tunnel structure makes efficient use of the tent's footprint, providing good internal headroom and a particularly generous porch for storing bulky equipment. This makes the Omega 600XL especially well suited to longer camping trips, motorcycle touring, group expeditions and adventures where keeping wet or muddy equipment away from the sleeping area is important.
Sleeping accommodation is divided between a spacious rear inner designed for up to four people and a removable front sleeping pod for an additional two campers. Removing the front pod opens up more usable porch space and also gives access to the tent through its large front entrance.
With the front bedroom removed, the main door can also be supported using suitable walking poles or optional Vango King Poles to form a useful sheltered canopy. This gives you greater flexibility around camp, particularly when preparing equipment or relaxing outside in changeable weather.
Protection from the elements comes from Vango's Protex Eco Ripstop polyester flysheet, manufactured using recycled single-use plastics and rated to 3000mm HH. Fully taped seams help prevent water penetration, while the durable 70D polyester inner groundsheet provides a 6000mm HH waterproof rating.
The tent also incorporates Vango's TBSII Tension Band System, which adds internal bracing when conditions become windy. PowerLite aluminium poles keep the overall structure strong without excessive weight, while reflective guylines, high-grip adjusters and lightweight aluminium pegs provide additional security around camp.
Ventilation is provided through mesh-backed flysheet vents, breathable inner fabrics, mesh door panels and the full mesh flysheet entrance. Combined with the large Diamond Clear windows and roll-away privacy curtains, this helps create a lighter, more comfortable living environment while allowing airflow through the tent.
Despite its substantial capacity, the Omega 600XL packs down to approximately 58 x 26cm and weighs 9.8kg, with a quoted trail weight of 7.5kg. A Fast Pack carry bag with an oversized opening and compression straps makes packing the tent away easier after your trip.
For groups that need considerably more storage and living room than a traditional backpacking tent can offer, while still wanting something relatively compact for transport, the Vango Omega 600XL provides a highly versatile base camp.

Key Features
Spacious Tunnel Construction
The three-pole tunnel structure provides an excellent balance of usable internal space, stability and manageable packed weight. Its shape creates generous headroom and maximises the amount of practical living and storage space available.
Flexible Six-Person Sleeping Layout
A large rear bedroom accommodates up to four people, while the removable front pod adds sleeping space for another two. Take the pod out when it is not required and you gain additional porch and equipment storage space.
Flysheet and Inner Pitch Together
The inner tent can remain connected to the outer flysheet during pitching and packing, helping make setup quicker and reducing the chance of the sleeping compartment being exposed to rain. The flysheet can also be pitched independently when required.
PowerLite Aluminium Poles
High-quality 7001-T6 aluminium alloy poles deliver excellent strength without the weight associated with heavier pole systems, making them particularly suitable for trekking, touring and expedition use.
Colour-Coded Pitching System
Matching pole and sleeve colours make it easier to identify where each pole belongs, helping simplify setup when arriving at camp in poor weather or fading light.
Protex Eco Ripstop Flysheet
The durable 68D polyester flysheet incorporates ripstop construction and recycled material produced from single-use plastics. A 3000mm HH waterproof rating and taped seams provide dependable protection against wet weather.
Breathable Inner Fabric
A combination of polyester fabric and strategically positioned mesh encourages airflow through the sleeping compartments, helping minimise condensation and maintain a more comfortable environment overnight.
Heavy-Duty 6000mm HH Groundsheet
The 70D polyester groundsheet has a tough PU coating and a 6000mm hydrostatic head rating, providing reliable protection from damp or saturated ground while remaining straightforward to clean.
Raised Bathtub Groundsheet
The inner groundsheet rises approximately 10cm around the tent walls, helping prevent surface water, splashes and moisture from reaching the sleeping area.
TBSII Wind-Stability System
Vango's internal Tension Band System can be deployed in poor weather to brace the tent against sideways movement. Adjustable bands create additional structural support in strong crosswinds and can be stowed when conditions are calm.
Reflective High-Visibility Guylines
Reflective detailing makes the guylines easier to spot in low light, reducing the likelihood of trips around camp while making the tent easier to manage after dark.
High-Grip Guyline Adjusters
Secure adjusters help maintain guyline tension when the weather deteriorates while allowing straightforward adjustment when you need to tighten or reposition the tent.
Lightweight Aluminium Pegs
Durable aluminium pegs provide a useful combination of holding strength and low weight, helping keep the overall packed weight under control.
Fully Taped Waterproof Seams
Critical flysheet and groundsheet seams are taped to reduce water ingress and improve protection during prolonged periods of rain.
Full Mesh Flysheet Entrance
A secondary mesh door can be used while the main flysheet door is open, improving ventilation without leaving the interior completely exposed to insects.
Easy-Access O-Shaped Inner Doors
Curved bedroom entrances provide a wide opening and are designed to make the zips easier to operate, including when opening the door one-handed.
Mesh Ventilation Panels
Mesh sections within the inner doors increase airflow between sleeping and living areas while helping keep insects outside.
Versatile Front Door and Canopy
The large front entrance can be completely rolled away or supported with compatible walking poles or optional Vango King Poles to create a sheltered canopy in front of the tent.
Diamond Clear Windows
Large clear windows bring additional natural light into the porch, helping the sizeable living area feel brighter and more open.
Roll-Away Privacy Curtains
Toggled curtains can cover the windows when privacy is required and roll neatly away when you want maximum light.
Flysheet Ventilation
Mesh-protected vents positioned at each end of the flysheet encourage continuous airflow through the tent while reducing access for insects.
Extra-Large Equipment Porch
The extended three-pole design creates a substantial sheltered area for storing rucksacks, motorcycle equipment, boots and wet clothing separately from the bedrooms.
Clip-In Porch Groundsheet
A removable riser-style porch groundsheet helps create a cleaner and drier storage space while reducing draughts and limiting water ingress around stored equipment.
Fast Pack Carry Bag
An oversized top opening makes the tent easier to load into its carry bag. Drawcord closure and compression straps then help reduce the packed volume for transport.
Internal Storage Pockets
Useful pockets inside the bedrooms provide accessible storage for smaller essentials such as phones, torches and personal items.
Tested for Wet-Weather Performance
The Omega 600XL has been rain tested in accordance with EN ISO 5912 requirements, providing dependable protection for normal trekking and seasonal camping conditions.
Fire-Retardant Fabrics
Tent fabrics are manufactured to meet applicable European tent safety requirements for flame resistance.
