  • Vango Protex® 70D polyester flysheet, 3000mm HH
  • D of E recommended kit
  • Trail Weight - 2.69kg

The Vango Scafell 300 is a practical, no-fuss 3-person tent designed for campers who want something light, reliable, and easy to set up. Whether you're heading out for a DofE expedition, a weekend of hiking, or a low-key camping trip with friends, this tent keeps things simple without cutting corners on quality or comfort.

Materials & Waterproofing – Built for British Weather

British weather can be a bit unpredictable, but the Scafell 300’s got you covered. Its Protex® 70D polyester flysheet has a 3000mm waterproof rating, so it handles downpours with ease. The groundsheet is just as tough – made from 70D PU-coated polyester with a 6000mm rating, it keeps moisture firmly on the outside.

Every seam is taped at the factory, giving you peace of mind that you’re not going to wake up in a puddle. And with Rain Stop doors, you won’t get dripped on when you unzip the tent in the middle of a shower. It also meets EN5912 fire safety standards.

Frame & Stability – Strong in the Wind

The tunnel-style design is easy to pitch and holds up well in rougher weather. Its Gothic Arch pole shape isn’t just for looks – it helps rain and snow run off instead of pooling. The PowerLite aluminium poles are strong yet lightweight, striking a solid balance between durability and portability.

What really adds to the tent’s stability is Vango’s TBS®II Tension Band System. These adjustable internal straps help prevent the tent from swaying in the wind, especially on exposed pitches. You can stash them away when the weather's calm.

Sleeping & Living Space – Room for Three, Plus Gear

Despite its lightweight build, there’s decent space inside for three people. The front-facing porch gives you a covered area to stash your gear or boots, keeping the sleeping area clutter-free.

The inner tent uses breathable fabric with mesh panels to keep the air fresh and reduce condensation. There are also storage pockets to help you stay organised – always handy when space is tight.

Ventilation & Comfort – Airflow Where You Need It

Ventilation is sorted thanks to a rear mesh vent and a partial mesh inner door. These help keep air moving through the tent, which makes a noticeable difference when it’s warm or when you're trying to dry things out overnight.

And with the Rain Stop door design, you don’t have to choose between fresh air and staying dry.

Pitching & Pack Size – Set Up in Minutes

You can pitch the Scafell 300 in around five minutes, which is great when you’re racing the weather or setting up in fading light. The all-in-one pitching means the inner and outer go up together, and you can even pitch it flysheet-first to keep the inside dry.

It packs down to just 47 x 14cm, and at 2.69kg, it’s light enough to carry on multi-day treks. The Fast Pack bag has a wide opening and compression straps, so packing up doesn’t turn into a wrestling match.
