6 Man Tents

A 6 man tent is the most popular size for family camping because it gives a family of four or five more usable living space without moving up to an 8 man tents. For families, the extra room can make a big difference during longer camping holidays, especially when you're taking lots of camping equipment such as chairs, tables and suitcases.

Although 6 man tents are designed to sleep up to six people, we suggest that they’re perfect for a family they are perfect for a family of four.  This then gives you plenty of useable living space and storing bags etc. A family of four, for example, may use one bedroom for adults, another for children and the remaining space for bags.

Choosing the Right 6 Man Tent

The right 6 man tent depends on how you camp. If you are heading away for short weekends, a simpler poled model may give you all the space you need and have a smaller pack size. For longer holidays, an inflatable 6 man tent with a larger living area, canopy or porch for additional storage/cooking space may be worth considering.

Bedroom layout is another important factor. Some 6 man tents have three separate bedrooms, while others use a two-bedroom layout with removable dividers.
