Vango has been producing high quality tents for over 60 years and is one of the biggest if not the biggest brand in the industry.  In our Vango tent range we have everything from lightweight backpacking tents to large inflatable air tents for families.

Quality Materials Designed for Camping

One of Vango's biggest strengths is that different fabrics are used across the range depending on how the tent is designed to be used.

Technical and backpacking tents use Protex 70D, a lightweight 70-denier polyester flysheet with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head. It provides reliable weather protection while keeping pack weight down for walking and adventure use.

Models including the Sorrento 600XL, Carpi 400 and Iris 500 use Sentinel Essential, a 68D polyester fabric with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head, offering a good balance of weather protection, manageable weight and value.

Many Vango family tents such as the Tacoma, Savannah and Sierra tents use Dynamic Weave 100, a stronger fabric built for repeated family camping. Its 4,000mm hydrostatic head provides increased weather protection while remaining light enough to transport and handle easily.

Premium models such as the Sherwood range use Sentinel Excel, a heavier-duty 150D embossed fabric with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head. It also incorporates Vango's ColourLok technology to help improve colour longevity.

For campers looking for greater breathability and temperature control, ranges such as the Sherwood TC and Sierra TC use Sentinel TC polycotton. The cotton and polyester blend helps keep the tent cooler in warm weather and warmer when temperatures fall, making it particularly well suited to longer camping holidays.

The result is a range where you can choose a Vango tent based on how you actually camp, rather than simply choosing by size or price.

Vango AirBeam and Poled Tents

Vango was one of the brands that helped introduce inflatable tents as an alternative to poles, and its AirBeam technology remains one of the best-known features of the range.

A Vango AirBeam tent replaces much of the pole structure with inflatable beams. Once pumped up, the beams create the main structure of the tent, helping to make pitching a large family tent much easier.

Poled Vango tents remain a firm favourite with our customers too. They can offer lower weight, smaller pack sizes and excellent value, making them particularly suitable for weekends away, festivals and campers who do not mind spending a little longer pitching.

The better choice comes down to how you camp rather than one system automatically being better than the other.

Vango Tent Features That Make a Difference

Vango tents include a range of features developed to improve comfort, stability and day-to-day use on the campsite. Not every feature appears on every model, but many of Vango's family and touring tents include technology designed around the conditions campers regularly experience.

ColourLok Eco helps the tent fabric retain its colour by protecting against UV fading. Vango also uses a dyeing process that requires up to 60% less water, helping reduce the environmental impact of production.

Vango AirZone ventilation uses high and low-level ventilation panels to encourage airflow through the tent. Better air circulation can make the interior more comfortable in warmer weather and helps reduce condensation overnight.

TBSII Tension Band System is designed to improve stability in strong winds. When needed, the internal tension bands brace the tent structure at three points to help reduce sideways movement. In calmer weather, the bands can simply be stowed away in pockets at the side of the tent.

Diamond Clear Windows allow plenty of natural light into the living area while giving you a clearer view outside. This can make larger family tents feel brighter, more open and more comfortable when you're spending time indoors.
